Humanistic Arts Education Group (HAEG) began as a volunteer program bringing art to ‘at-risk’ youth at a continuation school in Orange County, California. It has now blossomed into a wonderful non profit project that will be offered to many different youth organizations with the goal of empowering young people by using their talents to contribute something to their community. The first project was a 40′ x 8′ mural that was installed around the Newport Beach YMCA pool where it remained for several years. The students were recognized and praised on the front page of the local newspaper.
This project has inspired a swell of pride and accomplishment to young people who were at a crossroads in their lives. This experience can open up possibilities in their young hearts that will not only bring them so much joy but can also bridge a gap with their local communities leading them to value creating choices for their future.
